As the opening video packe fades, the video wall displays the image of Michael Jamborgh, seated at his desk, his arms crossed. He looks into the camera before beginning to speak. "Ladies and gentlemen, I was approached earlier by a man who has been out on injury for some time, now. That man, of course, being none other than Lino. Now, he requested a match against Catastrophe, but he was understandably worried about potential interference from Cain or Alex DuVry, so he requested the match take place inside a steel cage." Michael states, as the crowd roars their approval.
"So, of course, smelling ratings, I signed the contract for the match. So, that bout will happen tonight, immediately following our opening contest!" Michael shouts.
Match 1: Fallen Rites Royal Rumble 2009
"Oh, Kairez, I know you're watching!" Jim Norris shouts, after taking a microphone from the stage hand. "So, I'm sure you're wondering who I've lined up for you to face here, tonight. Well, allow me to take this opportunity to introduce you to your opponent!" Jim gestures toward the entryway, where the crowd roars upon seeing B-4 lumber back out.
"As I'm sure you gathered by his appearance earlier, Michael has lifted his suspension, and he can now once again actively compete in MWL. So, Kairez, THIS is your opponent! I hope you're ready!"
Match 2: Steel Cage - Lino v. Catastrophe
- Catastrophe escaped the cage at 13:33.
Match 3: Norton Brothers v. Shane Warner & Chad Vritska
- Spike Norton pinned Chad Vritska after the Norton Brainbuster at 10:05.
Match 4: Kairez v. B-4
- B-4 pinned Kairez after a lariat at 17:40.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is Stevan Corber here, with one Gregory Mandrake and--!" Stevan begins, as Mandrake takes the microphone from him.
"...And two of my talents." He hisses, grinning. "Allow me to introduce a man your are all already quite familiar with, winner of the 2008 Good Saint Mike Tournament, Jarvick Redrock. You see, Michael Jamborgh and the rest of management were about to send this young man to Cross-Atlantic Wrestling, where his name would fall into obscurity, and I simply could not allow that to happen, for the sake of his fans. So, I took the liberty of binding his name to the contract of this young man. Allow me to introduce to you, the Cornerstone of MWL..." Mandrake begins.
"Lucas Reinhardt, BABY!" The young man shouts, stepping into view. "Best watch out, Redline! The Cornerstone has arrived, and I will not be denied!"
"Yes, this is the time for Jarvick Redrock and Lucas Reinhardt to take their places in the spotlight. And so, to that end, MWL, behold, for the new age has come." Mandrake hisses, as the image on the video wall fades back to the arena.
Match 5: MWL World Tag Team Championship - (C) CTHD v. the Brotherhood (David Hitz & Scott Froelich)
- David Hitz pinned Byakko after a Toledobomb at 11:07 to win the MWL World Tag Team Championship.
Match 6: MWL World Lightweight Championship - (C) Christopher Martel v. Maverick Miller
- Maverick Miller pinned Christopher Martel with a roll-up at 12:33 to win the MWL World Lightweight Championship.
Main Event: MWL World Heavyweight Championship - (C) Jim Norris v. Yugo Ryan
- Jim Norris pinned Yugo Ryan with a cradle pin at 11:30 to retain the MWL World Heavyweight Championship.
As Jim Norris celebrates his win, the arena lights die, and the familiar eerie music of the Brotherhood takes over the sound system. The single red light clicks on, focused upon the center of the ring, where Jim Norris stands, holding the MWL World Heavyweight Championship and staring across the ring at the leader of the Brotherhood, Kairez. Jim only looks on as Kairez dons a twisted grin, before Kairez raises his arms, the red light fading as he does. After several moments of total darkness, the arena lights click back on, revealing the team of Kairez and Catastrophe standing over the now unconscious Yugo Ryan and Jim Norris. Catastrophe's foot rests upon Yugo's chest as he holds the MWL World Heavyweight Championship belt high overhead and the show fades to a close.
"So, of course, smelling ratings, I signed the contract for the match. So, that bout will happen tonight, immediately following our opening contest!" Michael shouts.
