The camera fades in to the MWL arena's cafeteria, where Shane Warner, Michael Jamborgh, and Sarah Alyssa are all standing beside a box placed on the cafeteria. On it is a post-it note reading "blind draw". "Ladies, gentlemen, and brain-dead morons of all ages!" Shane announces, megaphone in hand. "It's time for the blind draw for this year's Dead Heat Tournament! When we call your name, please approach the box, and draw a number. And no assaults this year. ANTHONY." Shane states, as Anthony Jacobs scoffs and crosses his arms. "Jarvick Redrock." Jarvick approaches the box, reaches in, and removes a sheet, showing it to Sarah. She writes Jarvick's name under a column labelled "Team 2". "Lino." Lino approaches, and draws his number, showing it to Sarah, who writes his name under Team 7. "Yugo." Yugo approaches, draw his number, and immediately shouts in disbelief.
"WHAT IS THIS?!" Yugo demands. Shane peeks at the paper.
"Team 8, Sarah." Shane states. "Alright, go, we're on a tight schedule, here. Viper!" Viper approaches and draws his number.
"Uh, ah... Team 8..." Viper mutters. Yugo's jaw hits the floor.
"YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!" Yugo screams.
"AJ." Anthony walks forward and reaches in.
"Team 5." He states, going and plopping back down in his seat.
"We're watching you, this year." Shane states. "Red Norton!" Red pushes himself to his feet and draws his number. He shows it to Shane. "Alright, Team 2. Allan Martel." Allan approaches and takes his draw.
"Team 4, baby!" Allan shouts.
"Oh, lookit. My draw, next!" Shane grins, reaching in. He shows his number to Sarah. "Ha! I got Team 4, too! Alright then, Magnum!" Magnum approaches and reaches into the box.
"Team 1." Magnum states.
"Alright. Nick!" Shane calls. Nicholas Hunter approaches and takes a number from the box.
"Aaw, Team 5." Nick groans. He sulks back and plops down.
"Jim Norris." Shane calls. Jimmy stands and approaches the box.
"Anything but 6, anything but 6..." Jim whispers, drawing from the box. "...Team 3."
"Alright. Alex DuVry." Alex stands. He reaches in and pulls a number out.
"Team 6." Alex states, plopping down.
"David Hitz!" David approaches silently and draws his number, showing it to Shane. "Team 7." Shane relays. "Alright, Scott Froelich!" Scott approaches and also silently draws his number, showing it to Shane as David had. "...And Team 1. Kouryuu, it's just you and Levithan left." Kouryuu approaches and slams his hand into the box, yanking out his number and knocking the box to the floor.
"Team 6." Kouryuu growls.
"Oh, don't start." Shane groans. "So that leaves Levithan on Team 3. Alright, Magnum, Scott Froelich, Jarvick Redrock, and Red Norton, you're up to start us off. Jim Norris, Levithan, Allan Martel, the three of you and myself will be following that. Let's get this show started, people!"
Match 1: Dead Heat Tournament Qualifier - Magnum & Scott Froelich v. Jarvick Redrock & Red Norton
- Jarvick Redrock pinned Magnum after a running knee at 14:59 to qualify his team for the Dead Heat Tournament 2008.
Match 2: Dead Heat Tournament Qualifier - Jim Norris & Levithan v. Allan Martel & Shane Warner
- Shane Warner pinned Levithan after a series of kicks at 5:41 to qualify his team for the Dead Heat Tournament 2008.
As Allan Martel continues celebrating their victory and advancement into the Dead Heat Tournament, Shane grabs a microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen, I have an announcement concerning the MWL World Tag Team Championship match scheduled for later tonight. It will be, two-on-two, Jarvick Redrock and Chad Vritska against David Hitz and Spike Norton in a LADDER MATCH!" The crowd roars approval as Shane and Allan head backstage.
Match 3: Maverick Miller v. Alex DuVry v. Christopher Martel
- Maverick Miller pinned Christopher Martel after a rolling fireman's carry slam at 14:57.
Match 4: Cain v. Kouryuu
- Kouryuu pinned Cain after a running neckbreaker at 15:55.
Match 5: MWL World Tag Team Championship - Ladder: (C) The Brotherhood (David Hitz & Spike Norton) v. Jarvick Redrock & Chad Vritska
- David Hitz climbed the ladder and retrieved the belts at 8:15 to retain the MWL World Tag Team Championship.
"WHAT IS THIS?!" Yugo demands. Shane peeks at the paper.
"Team 8, Sarah." Shane states. "Alright, go, we're on a tight schedule, here. Viper!" Viper approaches and draws his number.
