The camera fades in to Michael Jamborgh's office, where Shane Warner has taken Michael's usual place. "Ladies and gentlemen, tonight is the final night on the road to MWL's Dead Heat Tournament. Wednesday will see the beginning of the tournament's tag team qualifier matches. Following that will be the tournament itself. But, on to why I'm speaking. Tonight, we will celebrate the start of the tournament's qualifiers by determining the number-one contenders to the MWL World Tag Team Championship, and we will do so by having an HT5!" Shane shouts. The audience roars their approval.
"Ah, but that's not all! The match will only end when one of the team captains has fallen! If a non-captain team member is defeated, they're simply eliminated from the match. Now, let MWL Extinction 2008 begin!" Shane announces.
Match 1: Lino & Red Norton v. Nicholas Hunter & Viper
- Lino forced Viper to submit to a surfboard hold at 6:46.
Match 2: MWL-CAW Championship - (C) Cain v. Magnum
- Magnum forced Cain to submit to a boston crab at 10:18 to win the MWL-CAW Championship.
Match 3: Tag Team Contendership - Captain Fall HT5: Canada's Best (Captain: Allan Martel) v. CTHD (Captain: Kouryuu) v. Jarvick Redrock & Chad Vritska (Captain: Jarvick Redrock)
- Chad Vritska pinned Kouryuu after a Face Cracker at 7:35.
Match 4: MWL North American Championship - (C) B-4 v. Alex DuVry
- B-4 pinned Alex DuVry after a whiplash at 7:58 to retain the MWL North American Championship.
Match 5: MWL World Tag Team Championship - (C) The Brotherhood v. Asian Persuasion
- David Hitz pinned Tiananman after a double-foot stomp to the face at 7:15 to retain the MWL World Tag Team Championship.
Match 6: Hardcore - Yugo Ryan v. Catastrophe
- Yugo Ryan pinned Catastrophe after a blow from a sledgehammer at 7:31.
As the final bell rings, Lino appears on the stage, slowly making his way down the ramp. Catastrophe begins to stir, coughing through the blood covering his face. "What are you waiting for?!" Catastrophe demands. "GET HIM!" Lino only stands there, staring at the two.
"Did you hear me? I SAID GET HIM!" Catastrophe repeats. Lino only continues to stand there as Catastrophe pushes himself to his feet. "This isn't over, Yugo." Catastrophe spits, backing away. "One more time... At Uprising." With that, Catastrophe raises his middle finger to Yugo and Lino before climbing the barricade and disappearing into the crowd.
Main Event: MWL World Heavyweight Championship - (C) Kairez v. Jim Norris v. Shane Warner
- Jim Norris climbed the ladder and retrieved the belt at 16:36 to win the MWL World Heavyweight Championship.
The referee hands Jim Norris both the MWL World Heavyweight and MWL World Lightweight Championships, as he climbs the ladder again and holds the two titles high overhead. "Eight time World Champion, baby!" Jim shouts to the camera, soaking in the crowd reaction as the show fades to a close.
