The camera fades in to Michael Jamborgh's office where he is sitting with Sarah Alyssa and Shane Warner. "Ladies and gentlemen, it's that time of the year again. This is MWL Goldlust 2008. The night of the year where every MWL championship is on the line in one night, but we're also going to give you a few other bouts just to mix it up. Following the opener it will be CTHD versus Canada's Best to determine the number-one contenders to Free Radical's MWL World Tag Team Championship. Then, about halfway through the event, we'll have a lightweight ladder match pitting newcomer Maverick Miller against Chad Vritska, Scott Froelich, and Kentan of the Asian Persuasion in a four-way dance!"
"Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, folks in the arena and at home, enjoy the show." Sarah interjects as Michael sighs and glares at her.
"I was supposed to be the one to say that." Michael mutters.
"You were too slow, Mike." Sarah answers as Shane just laughs in the background.
Match 1: MWL-CAW Championship - (C) Viper v. Jarvick Redrock (Click for video)
- Viper pinned Jarvick Redrock after a series of punches at 11:50 to retain the MWL-CAW Championship.
Match 2: Tag Team Contendership - Hardcore: CTHD v. Canada's Best (Click for video)
- Allan Martel pinned Byakko after a shoulder block at 5:43 to compete for the MWL World Tag Team Championship.
The camera fades from the arena to the X's locker room, showing Melissa Rez sitting on a bench and watching one of the monitors intently. "Hrmm, they lost." Melissa mutters, as Lino stretches his arms.
"Well, it WAS a hardcore match, and those two are damn-near unstoppable in hardcore matches." Lino answers. "Catastrophe, you're almost up. You ready?"
"Oh, god... I...am going to die." Catastrophe whimpers.
"Oh, come on! You'll live! Now, get out there!" Lino shouts, shoving Catastrophe out into the hallway and slamming the door.
"But, I don't--! GAAH!" Catastrophe screams, seeing B-4 staring at him. Catastrophe stares, terrified, at B-4 for a moment before turning around and running full-bore in the opposite direction. A smirk cracks across B-4's face as he walks off, toward the arena.
Match 3: MWL North American Championship: (C) B-4 v. Catastrophe (Click for video)
- B-4 forced Catastrophe to submit with a boston crab at 9:02.
Match 4: Four-Way Dance - Ladder: Maverick Miller v. Chad Vritska v. Scott Froelich v. Kentan (Click for video)
- Maverick Miller climbed the ladder and retrieved the belt at 20:17 to win the match.
Match 5: MWL World Tag Team Championship: (C) Free Radical v. Anthony Jacobs & Kairez (Click for video)
- Anthony Jacobs was counted out at 3:47.
The video wall comes to life as both teams begin to make their exits. "Wait, whoa, whoa, whoa! No, no, no! Come on now, ref!" Michael shouts. "Count-out?! In a TITLE MATCH! No, this just won't do! On Redline, you two teams are gonna face off again, and if we see ANOTHER countout, it won't be pretty!" Michael shouts. The video wall quickly goes blank, leaving the two teams to make their exits and prepare for Redline.
Match 6: MWL World Lightweight Championship - (C) David Hitz v. Alex DuVry (Click for video)
- Alex DuVry pinned David Hitz with a bridge at 11:06 to win the MWL World Lightweight Championship.
Main Event: MWL World Heavyweight Championship: (C) Viper v. Lino (Click for video)
- Lino pinned Viper after a running neckbreaker at 11:11 to win the MWL World Heavyweight Championship.
As Viper rolls out of the ring, Lino stands tall, holding the MWL World Heavyweight Championship high overhead. As Lino's hands fall to his sides and he begins to step out of the ring, the arena lights quickly die as a low flame creeps up the video wall, similar to that of the last Redline. The same two silhouettes appear, in the same confident postures. The male extends his arm to the side, and as the flames blast upward, a flash of red can be seen on the male, and a glimmer of pink on the female.
As the flame display grows more violent, the two silhouettes fade out and a number of others appear momentarily, each fading out as another appears. As the flames die down, a voice speaks up over the sound system.
They represent a new era.
A new breed.
A total diregard for the safety of others.
And of themselves.
Younger. Faster. Stronger. Wild. Out of control. Some could even be called "hardcore".
The New Breed is coming.
Ignite the Fire...
The lights come back on, showing Lino continuing to stare at the now quiet video wall. He eventually looks down where he sees, written on the mat before him:
