As the opening video package detailing the annual Dead Heat Tournament, culminating in a clip of the last two semi-finalists winds down, the image fades in to show Michael Jamborgh. "Ladies and gentlemen, I do so hate to delay the start of your action two events in a row, but please bear with me. In recent times, the factions at war have grown to be rather violent. For just a single example, there was the brutal attack on former MWL World Heavyweight Champion Yugo Ryan at the end of our previous MWL PPV event, Uprising. To that end, at Dead Heat, both sides will be allowed to choose three representatives. Then, there will be a six-man elimination tag team match. With any luck, this will, at the very least, reduce the frequency of the factions' attacks upon one another.
"To that end, enjoy the show, everyone." Michael states with a wave of his hand as the image fades back out to the arena.
Match 1: Hardcore - Anthony Jacobs v. Scott Froelich
- Anthony Jacobs pinned Scott Froelich after a chairshot at 11:10.
As Scott begins to gradually force himself back up to his feet, AJ tucks back in the corner and dons a wicked grin. Scott finally manages to pull himself up using the ring ropes, and turns around just in time for AJ to charge forward and hit the Longinus. AJ quickly exits the ring and begins backing up the entryway, his hands raised in triumph.
Match 2: Jim Norris v. Alex DuVry
- Alex DuVry pinned Jim Norris with a roll-up at 10:06.
Match 3: Cornerstone v. Yugo Ryan & Catastrophe
- Jarvick Redrock pinned Catastrophe after the Salty Croc Guillotine at 18:31.
Match 4: Dead Heat 2009 Semi-final - Kairez v. Kouryuu
- Kouryuu pinned Kairez after the Chaos Theory at 19:22.
Kouryuu points to the video wall with a wide grin as Kairez's name grays out, leaving only two: the Gold Dragon, and Cain. Kouryuu looks to the video wall before turning back to the camera and approaching it. "I just took down Kairez, Cain! You'll be nothing!" Kouryuu shouts before climbing out of the ring, dropping to the ground and making his exit.
Main Event: MWL North American Championship - (C) Lino v. Viper
- Lino pinned Viper after a running neckbreaker at 25:32 to retain the MWL North American Championship.
As the closing bell rings and the referee hands Lino his North American Championship belt, he reaches around and buckles the belt around his waist. He then leans down and pulls Viper up by the hair, places his head beneath his arm, and motions to the crowd which gives a massive roar. Lino reaches down and grabs Viper's leg, hoisting him up. After holding him in the air for a second, Lino drops down and hits the Fisherman Spike. Lino stands and gestures to his title belt, as the show fades to a close with the reigning champion standing above his fallen opponent...
