I am NOT a happy man these days! A few days ago, my PS3 stopped reading my game discs. It doesn't work with any disc put into it, not even the Blu-Ray cleaner disc I bought (which was a waste). It doesn't give me an error or anything. It just sits there with the console XMB menu thingie staring and laughing at me! The system boots up just fine. It just doesn't do anything at all when I load a disc into it. No games, no movies....nothing! I even took it apart tonight (with help from a tutorial) and manually cleaned the Blu-Ray lens. Put it back together, inserted my SVR2010 disc and.......still nothing! Something is obviously jacked up and I don't know how to fix it now. I tried to go as far as to do a backup of my system and game save data onto a USB hard drive, and the damn PS3 didn't even recognize my USb drive was plugged into it. I'm lost now. I have looked all over online for help and suggestions, but I keep seeing the same shit and I have either tried it already, or refuse to spend the money to send it back to Sony for them to work on it. It's like $150 at least! Sad part is, I have two more CAWs to submit here and I can't get to them now. Anyway.....yeah.

Shouldn't have taken it apart. If your PS3 is under a year old, they'd have fixed it for free.

Nah, it's just over two years old now, so I figured opening it up wouldn't matter by now. It still didn't work, so I feel like a tard. LOL
I'm going to try and transfer my save file onto my other PS3 and see if that will allow me to carry on with what I'm doing. It's just going to take a while to copy over all the playlists for the cistom entrances and all, and I'm hoping I can still keep my unlocked Stone Cold DLC!

Okay, update time.
I have a second PS3 in my living room that still works like a champ. So, I was going to copy my SVR2010 files off and transfer them onto the other system. DOESN'T FUCKING WORK!! You can't copy the game save files for 2010. It won't let you.
So, I'm right back where I was with no way to play SVR at all. All my options have been spent, unless I go get a new Blu-Ray drive and install it in my PS3. Hell, I already know how to take the drive out because I cleaned it the other night. How hard can putting in a new one be? Still, I don't have the damn money for that right now.
++++
At least I have the forms written down for all but two of my CAWs, and I can just re-create them on my other PS3. It will take time to build their stats back up, but it's not like I haven't had to do that already (I worked on an alternate attire for Angel, but I didn't know that it resets your attributes if you have them built up). Why that happens is beyond me, and it's a real donkey punch when you realize it happens. Anyway, creating my CAWs over again isn't a real big deal. It will be making Sasha and Sabrina Sinister over again that's going to kill me because I never got to take down their forms or moves before my PS3 shit on me.
But, that's how things are in my world tonight.

If you have a second ps3, instead of saving your files (Even though SvR wont let you) just take the hard drive out of the bad one and put it in the good one. That way you can still have your saves where you need it.
As far as the bad ps3, this might be a long shot but when it is off, try pressing the power and eject button at the same time. Keep your fingers on it until it beeps a few times. This should do something. If it doesn't work then yea, switch the hard drive. That is the best bet.

Does that really do anything? What is this black magic humbug you speak of, my good man? Meh....I'll try anything once. I was thinking about swapping out the HDD, but the "bad" PS3 has a 40GB and my "good" one is an 80GB. Not willing to forfeit all that extra space....not yet, anyway. But I'll try that trick of yours. If flying monkeys come crashing through my skylight and drain me of all my blood....your ass is mine!! ++++++++ Anyway, I'm back from trying that out. No flying monkeys, so that's good. But....it appears that God still hates me! No luck. Thanks for your suggestions, though. Wow....it's going to suck having to re-do everything I have done in the past month to get this game back how it was before. NOT looking forward to that! It was only fun the first time through. Now, it's going to feel like work.
