As the opening video package fades, the image cuts to that of Michael Jamborgh's office, where he is seated beside Sarah Alyssa, who is peering over his shoulder. "So, you figure out what the prize is gonna be this year?" Sarah asks.
"Sarah, I'd determined that before we'd even selected the participants." Michael answers, matter-of-factly. "I simply haven't unveiled it, yet."
"In other words, you're still undecided."
"Joke all you like, but you'd best hope the wrong one doesn't win the tournament." Michael states.
"Why's that?" Sarah asks, nervous.
"Never you mind." Michael answers, giving a grin.
Match 1: Alex DuVry v. Chad Vritska
- Chad Vritska pinned Alex DuVry with a roll-up at 9:38.
Match 2: Allan Martel v. Catastrophe
- Allan Martel pinned Catastrophe after a front suplex at 12:30.
The camera cuts backstage, where a long hallway is seen, empty save for the figures of Yugo Ryan and Lino. Yugo is seen giving a wide grin as he turns a key in the doorknob before him. "...And there. No interference from them, tonight." Yugo states.
"What about Cornerstone, though?" Lino asks.
"They haven't even arrived. They'll have to change in the bathroom, though. Hope they don't mind. Not like they have any say, anyway." Yugo laughs. Yugo tilts his head back and opens his mouth, dangling the key above his face.
"Uh, Yugo? You sure that's such a good idea?" Lino cocks an eyebrow. Yugo looks to Lino, then the key, then back to Lino, lowering it as he grins and laughs.
"Good man. Don't wanna make THAT mistake again!" Yugo laughs as the two walk off. The camera then approaches the door the two were standing in front of. A loud banging rings out from inside the room, while the camera zooms in on the nameplate: "NEX-GEN".
Match 3: Norton Brothers v. CTHD
- Spike Norton pinned Kouryuu with a school boy roll-up at 23:30.
Match 4: MWL Dead Heat 2009 Quarter-final - Cain v. Jim Norris
- Cain pinned Jim Norris after a lariat at 7:16.
As the closing bell rings, Cain reaches down and begins to pull Jim Norris to his feet. Jim, still groggy, struggles slightly as the monstrous man drags him toward the ropes. Cain hoists Jim up by the throat and throws him down to ringside, where he lands with a heavy thud. Cain looks on as the video wall lights up, Jim's name graying out as Cain's lights up and indicates his advancement in the tournament. Cain then climbs out of the ring and walks up the entryway, never once looking back toward Jim.
Main Event: MWL World Tag Team Championship - (C) Lino & Kairez (w/ Yugo Ryan) v. Cornerstone
- Kairez pinned Jarvick Redrock after the Smoke & Mirrors at 19:52 to retain the MWL World Tag Team Championship.
As the closing bell rings, Lucas Reinhardt charges toward Kairez, ready to land a cheapshot. Kairez grins as Lino charges in and blindsides him, knocking the small man into the ropes. Lucas bounces off and falls face-first to the mat. Yugo climbs into the ring and holds the hands of his allies up high while Lino and Kairez hold up their MWL World Tag Team Championship belts. Tangled in the ropes, Lucas can be seen coming to for a brief moment, before losing consciousness again as the show fades to a close...
