The camera fades in to Michael Jamborgh's office, finding him seated behind his desk and with his hands pressed together. "Ladies and gentlemen, as you are aware, MWL's next pay-per-view, renamed 'Russian Roulette', is this Sunday. That said, I would like to run through the match card for the event. First, the Ssu-Ling will face the Norton Brothers in a match to determine the next number-one contenders to the MWL World Tag Team Championship. The second match will be a four man bout for the MWL-CAW Championship. The defending champion will face Shane Warner, Seiryu, and in light of his simply outstanding number of victories, former five-time MWL World Lightweight Champion, 'Slim' Jim Norris." Michael states, holding up a paper.
"Moving on, requested by management's own Sarah Alyssa, newcomer Chris Campbell will do battle once more with fellow newcomer Alex DuVry. Then, defending his MWL World Lightweight Championship, reigning champion Scott Froelich will face number-one contender, David Hitz. Following that, the reigning MWL World Tag Team Champions, SYN, will face two competitors, hand-picked by myself. For the MWL World Tag Team Championship, SYN will defend against the Asian Persuasion!" Michael announces, flicking the paper before him. He grins and nods before continuing.
"Now then, for our main event. The MWL World Heavyweight Champion, or should I say, 'self-proclaimed X Heavyweight Champion'? In any case, Yugo Ryan will defend his title against former champion Nicholas Hunter, and new challenger, Allan Martel, in a triple threat match!" Michael continues, setting the paper down. "Now, the unusual aspect of Russian Roulette is this: each match's stipulations will be randomized immediately prior. As a preview, of sorts, for this event, the participants in each match tonight were randomly chosen, and the matches are as follows: first up tonight will be David Hitz doing battle with Kentan of the Asian Persuasion. Following that will be the team of Free Radical, that is, Nicholas Hunter and Jim Norris, facing the Ssu-Ling's Seiryu & Kouryuu. And in tonight's main event, Yugo Ryan will face Anthony Jacobs in a non-title bout." Michael states, leaning back in his chair. "Thank you, and enjoy the show, everyone."
Match 1: David Hitz v. Kentan (Click for video)
- David Hitz pinned Kentan after a double-foot stomp from the top rope at 15:11.
Match 2: Free Radical v. Seiryu & Kouryuu (Click for video)
- Kouryuu was counted out at 4:52.
Match 3: Yugo Ryan v. Anthony Jacobs (Click for video)
- Anthony Jacobs pinned Yugo Ryan after a dragon screw leg whip at 7:55.
As Yugo slides out of the ring, AJ celebrates his victory in the ring while Yugo grabs his belt and slings it over his shoulder, turning toward the ramp. "Now wait just a minute there, Yugo!" A voice calls out. Yugo looks around as Melissa points to the stage, and at the top of the ramp is Sarah Alyssa, grinning and staring down at them, microphone in hand. "Now, what's wrong with this picture, hmm? We've got an up-and-coming young man there in the ring that just beat our World Heavyweight Champion, yet you're walking out with the title still on your shoulder, aren't you...?" Sarah asks, as Yugo spits and tries his best to intimidate her.
"Now, a while ago, I believe you and your little squad of men were flaunting the fact that you hold all three of MWL's World Championships. If this were the 90's champ, you would've just lost your big gun. Now, I know there's a lot of boys in the back that want that title off of you, Yugo, and they want to reclaim OUR championships from your grip. So, suffice it to say, only defending the titles on pay-per-view, just isn't cutting it. Now then, here in my hand is a contract. Signed by Michael Jamborgh himself, that states whatever needs to be done to keep the morale of the MWL-loyalists high, I can do. So I'm using this contract right here, right now, to make some changes!" Sarah shouts, as Yugo's eyebrow cocks.
"Starting on May 7th, 2008, Redline will no longer feature three matches! We're ramping it up to five a week. And on top of THAT, there will be AT LEAST one title match per show! Do you see where I'm heading with this, champ? Every champion, each time they compete in a proper match for their title, WILL BE DEFENDING IT!" Sarah states, as Yugo, again, tries his best to make her back down, but to no avail.
"May 7th will be the beginning, and YOU are our first one to bite the bullet, champ! Provided, of course, you leave Russian Roulette with that title still around your waist. Because the VERY Redline afterwards, you'll be defending the MWL World Heavyweight Championship, against...ANTHONY JACOBS!" Sarah announces, pointing to the ring and AJ, who is now ecstatic.
"Enjoy your title reign while it lasts, Yugo. You never know when our next champion may be just around the corner..." Sarah laughs, as the show fades out.
