Checking up (CK ment)

Frank sighed as he finished up the last little bit of paperwork, filing it away in his folders. He leaned back contently and opened up his drawer, bringing out a glass bottle of whiskey in a surprising move he brought out two glasses and poured whiskey in both of them and sat one on the other side of desk after filling it. He filled up his own and made short work of it, one gulp and it was gone.

"Mmmm, gonna be a good day." He stretched in his chair. Now that the paperwork was done, it was time for his favorite activity: torturing the roster. He contacted his secretary, "Barbara, would you please page Mr. CK? I would like a word with him."

"Yes Mr. Dubaine."

Now it was apparent why Frank had two glasses out. He refilled his own as he waited for CK.

CK picks up his cell phone and looks at it.

Dubaine??? What the fuck?! Oh well, better go see what he wants.

CK walks the halls of the arena till he comes to Franks office. He removes his sunglasses and winks at the secretary.

Frank wants to see me?

The secretary, coyley looks at CK. "Mr Dubaine is expecting you. Go right in".

CK opens the door, nods to Frank and sits without instruction. placing his glasses on Franks desk.

Frank? 'sup, you wanted to talk to me?[/color]

"Mr. CK, a pleasure. Now CK, I know you told me to lay off Brandon, and true to my word I have. But CK, I'm beginning to wonder if you are not beginning to see how much of a failure Brandon really is."

He opened up another desk drawer and pulled out a remote control. "I'll show you what I mean. This is a recording of yours and Brandon's tag team match this previous Meltdown. Let's see how it goes." He points the controller to the TV in the corner of his room. The TV turns on to show the match against Deathblade and Warren Peace. Deathblade picks up Brandon and drops him with that massive powerbomb finisher and gets the three count.

"Now I'm sure I need not remind you CK that ever since Methods of Madness, you and Brandon have been on a losing streak as of late. And the last three times, in a row, it has been Brandon that got pinned. And the last time you were pinned and Brandon dropped the ball in breaking up the pin. Now, lets get on to what surprised me."

Frank hits the play button again. The video is what happened after match, after it had gone to commercial break. After Deathblade and Warren Peace have left the ring, the rest of La Familia comes down and scrapes Brandon off the ring mat after being broken in half by the Demon Bomb. Everyone is helping Brandon get up, except CK. "Now let's stop it...here." He pauses at a part where CK is looking on as the others help Brandon up.

"First off, I notice you're not jumping in to help your injured 'brother' and second, through the marvels of technology, I can show you what truly sparked my interest." Dubaine hits a series of buttons and the video zooms in onto CK's face. CK's face is contorted in a kind of irritated/confused look.

"Now to me CK, this is not the look of a man who is worried if his 'brother' has been injured or not, that is the look of a man who is irritated because that said 'brother' just cost said man their fourth match in a row. Care to explain yourself, Mr. CK?"

[CK Malicious]

CK laughs and takes the bottle of whiskey and motions to pour.

You Mind?

FD: No go ahead CK.

CK pours a glass of the golden liquid and takes a sip.

Now Frank, you have a very good taste in whiskey sir.

FD: Thank you CK. CK nods and raises his glass to Frank taking another sip, this time longer.

Back on point, although visibly angry and frustrated at yet another loss. Knowing our impending title defence is looming, would be the reason for my look of distain. Also, how many people do you think it needs to pick Money up? SIX? I think the Boyz had it covered. But I'll humor your observation. What indeed is the problem with you and Brandon? especially the point of him being part of my 'Family'?[/color]

"My problem with Brandon is that I gave him a perfectly good chance to have a run for the AWF World Title back in the day, and he spurned it. We had this aging 'Legend' that was so old I found it amazing he could keep waking up in the morning." He poured himself more whiskey. "And all I told Brandon to do, was to end this 'Legend's' career in a hardcore match. A few chair shots too hard to the leg and it'd all have been over. That's all Brandon had to do. And he wouldn't do it. He seems to think that old washed up geezers like Ric Flair and Sting deserve to wrestle just as much as the young guys, like you and him."

Well this is where Brandon and I come together, I also feel there is a place in the business for the 'Legends' because lets face it... They are what paved the way for people like me.

CK re-fills his glass.

Funny you should mention two of my all time greats Frank. But if your gonna hold something like that against Brandon then what type of father or example are you?

CK takes a long drink and empties the glass of the golden liquid.

Now when JC, Mikey or the like get to 'Legend' status are you gonna want to end their careers unceremoniously too? I would hope not, or WE would have a major problem... But on the other hand I admire your drive to put the younger talent to the top of the pile, but you'll have to do something about the booking if you want the ratings up and the cream at the top.

CK grins and grabs the whiskey bottle, carefully reading the label before filling up his glass again.

There has to be more to it than THAT Frank... Come on... Spill the beans.[/b][/color]
