The stage and ring are awash in a sea of pyros to signal the beginning of Methods of Madness. Metallica's "St. Anger" blares through the arena, almost drowning out cheers of the enormous crowd. Atlantic Wrestling Federation was live on Pay Per View in Texas for the most extreme showcase of them all, Methods of Madness.
As St. Anger winds down to a close, "Mental" plays and Frank Dubaine appears on the stage, microphone and notepad in his hand. "Welcome, one and all, to the most extreme showcase in wrestling today, Methods of Madness!" The crowd started up an A-W-F chant. "Allow me to give you a quick run-down of what you will be seeing here tonight. Tonight, the United States title match will be defended in an Extreme Rules match!" The crowd cheered, chants of Manor and JC starting. "Also, I hope everyone here has their sunglasses and sunscreen, because tonight the Hardcore Title will be defended in the one, the only, INFERNO MATCH!!" The crowd exploded at the mention of fire. "To clear up some confusion on things, Jackel was meant to take on Osiris for the World Title today, but thanks to Freaky's attack, Jackel has to miss the show. Now it would be a massive waist for a Pay Per View to go by and not have the World Title defended. So, Yugo will be facing Osiris tonight in an Extreme Rules match with Jackel getting his shot this coming Collision." The crowd roared again.
As the crowd roared, Frank looked around. Now friends, I believe I have held up enough of your time. So without further adieu, let the madness...BEGIN!!"
Extreme Rules: Alexander Craine vs Deathblade vs Blade
Let the brutality of this event begin. Or not. These guys didn't use weapons at all. Alex was pretty much the punching bag of both DB and Blade. Blade did hit the Final Cut on Alex, but DB broke that up. Later on, after Deathblade punched Alex in the back and left the ring to finally get a weapon, Blade pins Alex for the win just as DB abandoned his search for a weapon to break up the pin too late.
WINNER: Blade
Hell in a Cell Hardcore Contendership match: Mikey Malicious vs Jaysun Legend vs Warren Peace vs Brandon Mac vs Trip Acid vs Machine
Heh, yeah right. Like I'd really be able to keep up with this match. For a finisher count, there was two Acid Trips both of which were delivered to Warren Peace, one Hunting RKO, one Last Ride and lastly one Final Rest which Mikey used on Legend to win the match while the other four were fighting each other and couldn't break up the pin.
WINNER: Mikey Malicious
Inferno Match Hardcore Title Match: Carnivore (c) vs Dante Malicious
These guys just fought tooth and nail, reversals were flying just as much as the strikes. The temperature reached 500 degrees a couple times, and both men tried to throw the other out but to no avail. Carnivore was able to use his Vile Driver, but after two Dante's Inferno's and a Triangle Stretch from Dante, a bleeding Carnivore was tossed over and WAS ON FIRE!!!!!!!
WINNER and NEW Hardcore Champion: Dante Malicious
As Dante celebrates in the middle of the ring, holding the Hardcore Title high in the air, Three Day's Grace "Just Like You" suddenly played throughout the arena, silencing the crowd and Dante.
The AWF tron flickered to life and words appeared on the screen. They say:
He returns. It begins again 4/2/2009.
Ladder Match United States Title Contendership match: Oblivion vs Brandon Malicious vs Lino vs CK Malicious
You know how these things go. One guy goes for it, the others left standing stops him by either going up and brawling with him, or if that's already under way to knock the ladder over. A fun little note is that Brandon was the only one to use his actual finishers and not just the Suplex finisher off the ladder, hitting both Lino and his tag team partner CK. Everyone took off bits of the belt meter, and the end came with Lino grabbing the belt and CK climbing, but Oblivion knocked the ladder over with CK still on, but Lino was still holding onto the title, dangling from it, but when he dropped, he dropped down the #1 contender.
WINNER: Lino
Extreme Rules Tag Match (Winners become Number 1 contenders for the tag team titles, losers are suspended till after Zero Hour): Genesis Mirage vs The Apokalypse
If you saw the St. Valentine's Massacre match these guys had last month, this match was pretty much the same thing, but with Erik bleeding, more weapons and with that things that were set on fire. Finish came with Klown using his Power of the Punch on a already bleeding Erik and pinned while Jester kept Matt away with a flaming 2x4.
WINNERS: The Apokalypse
Extreme Rules United States Title Match: Scott Manor (c) vs JC Malicious
Manor has not had much luck when it came to facing JC for the last two matches, can he change his luck and keep his title?
The match was a clash of fighting styles, with JC using his light and quick offense while Scott used his heavy hard hitting offense. Then the weapons came into play, unlike their match at Collision. Manor seemed to be desperate to win, because after hitting JC with a sledgehammer in the gut and followed that up with a spear, he went for a pin only for a 2 count. He picked JC up and hit a big punch and pinned again for another 2 count. But after some more strikes and a running DDT, Manor finally was able to get his 3 count.
WINNER and STILL US Champion: Scott Manor
Extreme Rules World Title Match: Osiris (c) vs Yugo Ryan
Yugo must have remembered how the last time he faced Osiris went, because Yugo went right at Osiris as soon as the bell was rung. Unfortunately, it did him little good, as Osiris just ripped into him not even using any weapons. Must of thought his fists and feet were good enough. Osiris ended it with a Eternal Damnation for the sound victory.
WINNER and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Osiris
